I am amazed at the loyalty that people show to their favorite sports team. To watch DIEHARD sports fans support thier teams makes us who profess to follow our beliefs look rather, well , WEAK!. Right here in Memphis the dividing lines that seperate Steeler fans, Cowboy fans , and even Laker fans have been drawn and their supporters do not take crossing the line too lightly! As a matter of fact, if you are in either camp and voice your opposition you might have to put your plate down,cover up your barbecue and be prepared to defend your position! (LOL). I have seen people proudly wearing the hats, shirts, shoes and other gear to proclaim their loyalty and let you know who's side they are on. Cars and trucks have even been customized in their devotion and dedication to these franchises. Wow!
So, we see that these DIEHARD sports fans are serious and do not SWITCH teams . Nor will you see them DITCH thier team, even when thier teams are not winning. SEASON after SEASON they are there to cheer their team to victory or with fervent hope say" Well , we will do it next week or get them next time!" Win , lose, or draw they hold fast to their team. As a matter of fact ,that LONE supporter could be outnumbered in a room full of folks who are rooting for the opposing team and he will STILL REPRESENT the team he believes in , despite ridicule and even when the odds are against his team. When everybody else is on the OTHER SIDE he does not SWITCH TEAMS. They can present their arguments for their side but he will not DITCH his team. If it is a sunny day he roots for his team. If it rains, sleets or snows he roots for his team. If their are FOULS and PENALTIES ,he roots for his team. Even through INJURIES, he roots for his team. He doesn't DITCH his team to be more popular or accepted , for favor or friends. When the last buzzer sounds he is STILL STANDING with his team!
Now are we LOYAL to the team or conviction we profess to have chosen? Or do we have several hats and jackets to conveniently change according to the crowd we are in? Hmmmm. Do we stand up and and stand by what we believe or do we go along to get along? Some folks are just like chameleons and lizards! They change according to where they are and who they are with! They change depending on who will stand with them or not. They may even co-sign on what they know is not quite right to be liked by other folks who are just as fake as they are. So believers do you know which team you are on? If not you need to be very sure that you have chosen the right team? For those who claim to have chosen a team, win or lose REPRESENT your team ALL DAY , EVERY DAY and do it until the last buzzer sounds! NOW, WHOSE TEAM DID YOU SAY YOU WERE ON AGAIN!
